~This is our lives on HOLIDAY!
The past week and these few days have led me to believe:
There is chivalry buried deep down within guys somewhere.
Yes, yes, yes.
I bear witness to it.
This restores my faith that gentlemen, Jack Dawsons and gallant knights exist in the world.

The past week was spent with 100+ others on a journey to find home. It made me incredibly homesick, especially the first day, when I felt incredibly lonely. I am so extremely thankful for Michelle who tided me through it. It got better from the second day, and I made new pals. Percussion is amazing. Just rhythms and beats can conjure up incredible music. The numerous different instruments, which seem so simple, can produce complex and harmonious music when they come together. Anjney and Peijun, fellow Indian percussioners! And knowing Anjney is like having a celebrity as a friend. Odd. But it's revolting, people only take interest after his name becomes famous. Slutty shameless young girls flirting and annoying assholes who act like they're such good friends. Ugh. Anyhow I am so glad I chose percussion, as nothing else put up that night came anywhere near the level of awesomeness we achieved.
Ironically, or sadly speaking, I don't feel like I have gained much insight into writing. I always know I suck at poems but this time I really know how I suck. Cyril Wong's workshop will probably remain in my mind forever. The two, three hours were unpredictable, exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. He intrigues me to no end. I have to pick up his book someday. Even if I don't get poetry.
Coming back, I have been running from one end of Singapore to another these days. Singapore is minute, but the places I've been to here are seriously pathetic. I journeyed to two ends which are utterly strange and foreign to me. Caught the NUS Guitar Harmonie concert at one end, and boy, the journey there opened my eyes to an undiscovered part of this little island to me. Ivan had to come fetch me into the meeting place as I was just stunned. The concert was so-so. At times it's breathtaking. Others, sleep-inducing. Ivan for one was damn hyper after the concert. Ideas for our concert~
7/6 - we celebrated 76 birthday. Stayed over at a guy's house for the first time. Ok that's not the point. It was at another part of our fair country that I am completely blur to. We barbequed, while a lot of the guys slacked off/gambled/whatever they did. We watched Federer claim the French Open title. Only a handful of us stayed over. The guys were really nice, and I am still touched, as they gave up their seats on the sofa, to pull out the bed and offer us comfortable sleeping spots. (Granted, they offered it after they were done with their mahjong/poker/whatnots.) They said they could huddle into any corner and sleep as they were, well, guys. I seriously felt like some qian jin xiao jie as we girls tucked into the comfy bed under the duvet that CC provided us with (though he was right that one can suffer heat stroke from it). ~~~
The next morning Jonj LP Chiobu CY had to return to school early so we left CC's house as the sun was rising. They abandoned Jasmine and me and hopped into the first cab they saw. The two of us went exploring Bugis and its vicinity. Fun~ I decided, I will save up to buy film for my Instax (this is saved for another post) and explore Singapore with it.
Yesterday today eventful too. I will let photos do the talking in another post.
I have been listening to Stand By Me over and over again these days. I have heard all kinds of covers. Lennon's, Timon and Pumba's (!!!!), David A, mashes with Beautiful Girls, yadayada. My cousin thinks it's best sung by untrained vocalists. I can only say I love this song. And Bono has a lovely lovely voice. Go check it out, U2 has covered it quite a number of times.
